Mountain Indian Hand Craft is located at 3452-5E (1 door north of Lucys Appliances) Sheridan Road in Zion, Illinois and is owned and operated by Bill and Linda Brown of Zion.
Thundering Mountain offers the Lake County shoppers many items normally found only at pow-wows (a Native American gathering), ranging from beads and other supplies to many decorative Native American hand crafted items. There are also hand crafted flutes and silver jewelry available for purchase.
Bill and Linda have participated as traders at Native American pow-wows throughout the States of Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky. Their son, Bill Jr., who also spends time at the store, has been a dancer and/or set up his drum at many of the same events.
Bill Sr. and Linda both hold offices on the Potawatomi Trails Pow-Wow Committee which sponsors Native American events held in this area.
Store hours: Wednesday and Thursday, 12:00 to 5:30; Friday from 12:00 to 7:00; Saturday from10:00 to 5:00; and every other Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00. Also open by appointment most evenings with advance notice. Please call on weekends as some are Pow-Wow dates.
