The 7th day of the 7th month of '07 was thought to be lucky by many, who deemed it a great day for marriage. Weddings took place all over the country among those who felt good about the number seven being lucky.
This couple, Danyell Whitfield and Jacob Warner were one such couple. Warner just finished basic training at Great Lakes the day before. Because of the time factor, the families of both the bride and groom drove all the way from Houghton and West Branch, Michigan to attend the small service held in Waukegan's Bowen Park. They won't be going on a honeymoon because the groom is to leave for Monterey, California on July 8 to attend language school. His bride, Danyell plans on joining him in August when he will be let out of school, but until then, he wil be kept in close confines of the school.
