I believe kindness goes much farther than cruelty,
And generosity goes much farther than greed.
I believe taking pause to help our fellow man
Is a way to bless others in time of their need.
I believe in setting goals to strive to attain
And counting them as blessings once they are achieved,
Then recognizing that a part of the success
Is because of a journey in which one believed.
I believe our future lies in our children
Who will grow to become what they’ve been taught,
seen and heard,
And that some of the best qualities one can have
Are being true, trustworthy and keeping one’s word.
I believe that faith, love, grace and humility
Are among the best attributes one can possess,
And “I understand” are among the most comforting words,
And a most freeing, kind gesture is forgiveness,
That one single thing that can go the farthest,
Is a genuine smile that transcends all language
For it has the power to warm cold and hardened hearts,
Add joy to one’s day and soften an anguish.
I believe too, in the strength and power of prayer,
And that God works things out in His own time and way;
That we should be mindful of each of His blessings,
Such as freedom, loved ones, earth’s bounty and each day.
