SPRING

The last traces of now gray snow’s melting,
The trees begin to show young, tender leaves.
The death of winter seems to be slow,
Yet as it clings to its life, no one grieves.

For better,greater things are now coming,
It seems to be evident everywhere.
Every burst of life is celebrating,
With a fragrance to permeate the air.

Blossoms will burst beauty at every turn,
As they become laden with their flowers,
And gentle spring rains often fall to earth
To help render the next few months’ flowers.

Mud lingers in the fields waiting to dry
In the still soon-to-come warmer spring sun.
The most traditional spring sign arrives:
The robin, heralds spring to everyone.

Schools about to be out for the summer,
Have kids jumping at the thought of freedom
Field trips to museums and zoos
Have kids clamoring joyously to see them.

Mother Nature is about to acquire
A brand new outfit in celebration
Of the opening of her new art show
And will dress special for the occasion.

The season’s first flowers begin to bloom,
Warm weather is soon to be here to stay.
Spring’s the beautiful gateway to summer,
And we welcome this wonderful segway!
